Donald “Don” William “Bill” Slavin

BARGERSVILLE

Donald “Don” William “Bill” Slavin, 70, of Bargersville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.

He was born Feb. 22, 1946, in Beech Grove, to William Curtis Slavin and Ruth Marie (Kraft) Slavin.

He married Terry Rose (Schmitt) Slavin on June 1, 1968, at Mount Pleasant Christian Church in Greenwood; she survives.

He was retired from Eli Lilly and Co. in Indianapolis after over 30 years of service.

He was a former member of the Bargersville Volunteer Fire Department.

He enjoyed trap shooting.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Terry Rose (Schmitt) Slavin of Bargersville; son, Gregory A. Slavin of Bargersville; grandson, Anthony E. Coe, who is serving in the U.S. Army in Georgia; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Michelle M. Coe, on July 30, 2015.

The Revs. Ken Rickett and Roger Gifford will conduct a service at 1 p.m. Thursday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 U.S. 31 South (Morton Street) in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood.
