Norma R. (Rund) Bay

GREENWOOD

Norma R. (Rund) Bay, 81, of Greenwood, passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side Jan. 31, 2017.

She was born June 10, 1935, in Franklin, the daughter of Russell Rund and Chrysteen Boaz Rund.

Norma graduated from Union High School in 1953. During her high school years she met the love of her life, Richard. Norma and Richard were later married March 13, 1955, in Providence Christian Church.

Throughout her life, Norma lived in Whiteland, and then settled in Southport as she and Richard raised their son.

Before Norma became a homemaker she worked at Indiana National Bank in Indianapolis.

Her greatest joy was being with family, including her siblings, nieces and nephews and especially her three grandchildren. She also enjoyed keeping up with current and financial events both locally and worldwide. She had a lifelong joy of research.

Over the years, Norma enjoyed watching her son as he participated in sports from little league through high school.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Richard Woolum Bay (84); her sister, Karen Morrison (David), and her brother Roger Rund (Rhonda).

Other survivors include her son Mark Russell Bay (60) (Laura Lucas) of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Brennan Bay (29), Walter Bay (27), Isabel Bay (25).

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Marilyn Henselmeier.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home in Franklin, with visitation at 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. A celebration of life will be held after the service for family.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts have been suggested to Providence Christian Church or American Cancer Society in honor of her sister Marilyn.
