Shelbyville slides past Warriors
Whiteland was defeated by Shelbyville in a close matchup on Saturday 68-62. Michael Valle led the Warriors (12-6) with a double-double, scoring 23 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
Braves defeated at Hoosier Gym
Indian Creek fell to Culver Academy on Saturday, 84-45, at the Hoosier Gym in Knightstown. The Braves fell to 11-8 with the setback.
Greenwood Christian places 6th in tourney
Greenwood Christian was defeated by Liberty Christian in the fifth-place game of the Pioneer Conference playoffs on Saturday 71-46. Quentin Steele led GCA (6-13) with 20 points, while Payton Modlin had 17.
Wrestling
Rebels freshmen advance to state
Roncalli freshmen Alec Viduya and Tyce Freije advanced to the state wrestling finals after both took first place at the New Castle semistate Saturday.
Viduya (113) won all four of his matches to advance to 43-2 on the season. Freije (120) was also perfect on the day, improving to 37-7 overall. State competition will begin on Friday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
