Wayne Lamar Morical

Wayne Lamar Morical, 88, of Greenwood, passed away surrounded by his family in the early morning hours of Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017.

Wayne was born Wednesday, May 23, 1928, in Indianapolis to Charles and Bertha (Braun) Morical. He graduated from Manual High School in Indianapolis. He proudly served his county as a member of the United States Navy from 1946 through 1948. On Feb. 8, 1953, he married the love of his life, Mary Alice Morical, who preceded him in death on Jan. 16, 2014.

Wayne worked as a self-employed dry wall contractor in the Indianapolis area for many years. He enjoyed fishing and loved his family more than anything else. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

Survivors include his eight children, Sam Morical of Greenwood, Dan Morical (Vicki) of Franklin, David Morical of Edinburgh, Linda Herbertz of Florida, Karen Baker of Florida, Diana Thompson of Greenwood, Nancy Fogleman (Larry) of Greenwood and Laura Morical of Greenwood; two sisters, Laverne Bernhardt and Marilyn Fillenwarth of Indianapolis; 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Wayne was preceded in death by two brothers, Donny Morical and Bud Morical; one grandson, Larry D. Fogleman; one granddaughter, Eleasha Morical; and sons in-law, Tommy and Gary.

A memorial gathering will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main St., Greenwood. A memorial service and military honors will be at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
