Christian Mendoza recently graduated from basic training from the U.S. Navy’s Recruit Training Command.
He earned the Military Excellence Award as the class’ top sailor in January.
Mendoza, a 2014 graduate of Whiteland Community High School, is the son of Dianne Mendoza of Greenwood.
