Wilma I. Buening

GREENSBURG

Wilma I. Buening, 78, Greensburg, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, at the St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born, April 7, 1938, in Decatur County, she was the daughter of John B. and Viola A. (Tichenor) Brancamp.

Wilma graduated from Napoleon High School in 1955. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg and a member of the St. Lawrence Ladies Auxiliary.

She was married to William E. Buening on June 24, 1958, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 11, 2013.

She is survived by two sons, Michael (Lisa) Buening of Nineveh and Kenny (Nancy) Buening of Greensburg, three daughters, Theresa Caffee of Greensburg, Janet (Bob) Henry of Batesville and Katrina (Rickey) Applegate of North Vernon; two sisters, Norma (Bob) Schreiner of Shelbyville and Dorothy (Frank) Schreiner of Greensburg; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons-in-law, Junior Bowling and Bill Caffee; four brothers, John Brancamp, Leo Brancamp, Paul Brancamp and Clarence Brancamp, and three sisters, Lillian Huff, Mary Ann Voiles and Pauline Fromer.

Family and friends will gather at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home, 302 N. Franklin St., Greensburg, to pray the rosary. Visitation will follow the rosary until 5 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will also receive friends from 9 a.m. until the funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg. Interment will be held in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Millhousen.

Memorials may be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation or to the St. Mary’s Church Building Fund.
