Franklin’s new mayor appointed two members to serve on a city board responsible for overseeing city projects and public safety.
Mayor Steve Barnett appointed Bob Swinehamer and Lisa Jones to the Franklin Board of Public Works and Safety, according to a news release from the city.
Swinehamer has served on the board since 2012, when he was appointed by former Mayor Joe McGuinness. Swinehamer was the city’s first planning director until 1979. His involvement with the city since then has included serving on the plan commission, board of zoning appeals and the economic development commission.
Jones, a commercial loan officer at Mutual Savings Bank, is a life-long resident of Franklin. Community boards she has served on include Franklin Development Corp, Leadership Johnson County and the Franklin Boys and Girls Club.
