Marilyn J. Carter

INDIANAPOLIS

Marilyn J. Carter, 91, of Indianapolis, went home to Heaven on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017.

She was born on March 14, 1925, in Knightsville, to Joseph and Zella (Schroer) Neese.

On Dec. 23, 1946, Marilyn married John Q. Carter.

Marilyn worked for Lifegate, Inc., as a shipping clerk before retiring in 1987.

She was a member of Suburban Baptist Church.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Judy (the Rev. Rick) Henry, John Darrell Carter, Janice (Gary) Botkins, Daniel (Sheri) Carter; brothers, Roy Neese and Ron Neese; sisters, Geneva Eggers and Marlene (Ron) Rodgers; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Clyde Neese; sisters, Mary Spelbring, Frances Neese and Betty Konrad; and grandson, Greg Botkins.

Services for Marilyn will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Suburban Baptist Church, 722 E. County Line Road, Indianapolis. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 7602 Madison Ave., Indianapolis, and 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the church. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
