Hazel Mabry

TRAFALGAR

Hazel Mabry, age 90, of Trafalgar, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017, with her family at her side.

She was born Dec. 23, 1926, in Center Point, Kentucky, to Guy and Rosie (Blythe) Milam.

Hazel had worked several years at Hygrade Meat Packing in Indianapolis until they closed. She then worked as a beautician at Block’s at Southern Plaza and at L.S. Ayres in Greenwood.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Trafalgar.

Hazel loved to work outside in her garden, growing flowers and taking care of her yard also.

Hazel married Willard R. Mabry, aka “W.R.” on Oct. 23, 1944, and he preceded her in death in 1999.

She is survived by her daughter, Willa Dene Pardue; grandson, Darren R. (Erin) Pardue; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three step-great grandchildren; brother, Charlie (Cathy) Milam of Greenwood, sister, Joyce Wilson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Frances Milam of Lakeland, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

Hazel was also preceded in death by her son, Jerry L. Mabry; grandson, Richard Lee Pardue Jr.; sisters, Gracie Mae Anderson and Beulah Whittle, brothers, Billie and Demous Milam.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, with Pastor Jerome Baker officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
