1100 block of Hospital Road: A woman reported at 1:07 p.m. Tuesday that her son’s wallet was stolen with one of her credit cards inside. There were several fraudulent purchases made on the card.
Steak ‘n Shake, 2088 U.S. 31 North: A woman reported at 2:07 p.m. Tuesday that she left her cellphone on the counter of the restaurant and that no one had turned it in when she called.

Best Buy, 562 Fry Road, Greenwood: Police responded at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday to a report of shoplifting.
Von Maur, 1251 U.S. 31 North: Police responded at 2:28 p.m. Tuesday to a report of shoplifting. A person was issued a summons to appear in court.

4135 W. Smith Valley Road, Greenwood: Police responded at 12:10 p.m. to the report of a child who had run away from Sugar Grove Elementary. The child was found unharmed and was returned to the school.

Traffic offense
South State Road 37 and West State Road 144, Martinsville: An officer conducted a traffic stop at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday for a loud muffler. Drugs and drug paraphernalia were found in the vehicle and the driver gave false identifying information. He was arrested.

Atterbury Job Corp., 3129 E. Edinburgh St., Edinburgh: A student reported at 9:32 a.m. Tuesday that another student pushed him and threw a broom at him.
5000 block of Old Smith Valley Road, Greenwood: A woman reported at 5:11 a.m. Wednesday that an acquaintance put his forearm on her neck and applied pressure, making it difficult for her to breathe.
