Bruce W. Peavler

YORKTOWN

Bruce W. Peavler, 53, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 24, 2017, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

He was born Sept. 10, 1963, in Franklin, the son of Robert and Virginia (Jones) Peavler Sr.

Bruce graduated from Franklin Community High School in 1982 and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University, Bloomington in chemistry.

On Aug. 5, 2011, in Muncie, he married the love of his life, Audra L. Asplin.

Bruce was co-owner of ESG Laboratories in Indianapolis and worked as an analytical chemist for the city of New Castle.

He was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church and was a regular attendee at College Avenue United Methodist Church.

Bruce was a member of the League of Women Voters and ran for U.S. Congress, District 6, in the fall of 2016.

He loved watching NFL football, college basketball, especially IU and spending time with his wife and family.

Surviving are his wife, Audra L. Asplin of Yorktown; three children, Kyle Peavler and Robert Peavler, both of Indianapolis and Olivia Peavler of Bloomington; one stepson, Alexander Mac Donald of Yorktown; and two grandchildren, Jayden Pollock and Jackson Pollock.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Peggy Hall and two brothers, Rick Peavler and Robert Peavler Jr.

There will be no services, and cremation will take place.
