Louise Coleman

EDINBURGH

Louise Coleman, 90, of Edinburgh, passed away Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017, at Franciscan St. Francis Health-Indianapolis.

She was born on Aug. 12, 1926, in Milton, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Earl and Lula B. (Rowlett) Hamilton.

She married Thomas Coleman on July 29, 1944. He preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 1997.

She is survived by sons, David Coleman of Edinburgh, Ron (Michelle) Coleman of Peru and James Coleman of Edinburgh; a daughter, Barbara Bowers of Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Judith Lackey; brothers, Otis, Owen, Jesse and Henry; and sisters, Irene, Hazel, Leona and Nadean.

She was a member of Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church and Tri-Kappa Sorority in Edinburgh. She graduated from Milton High School in Milton, Kentucky.

She formally had worked at Hills Department Store and Jacques Renee Boutique.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and had made a cross stitch piece for each grandchild.

She enjoyed working as a kindergarten aide at East Side Elementary School in Edinburgh and had served as a cub scout den mother.

Funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Lewis Burton at 1 p.m. Friday at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 4 to  8 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. until time of service Friday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
