Thousands in jewelry taken from home

Police are looking for the thief or thieves who broke into a Center Grove home and stole thousands of dollars of jewelry on Saturday.

A Johnson County Sheriff’s Office deputy was sent to check out a home alarm at 7:18 p.m. in the 4500 block of Diamond Ridge.

The deputy saw a back sliding screen door open and entered the home. A bedroom was ransacked and the homeowners reported thousands of dollars of jewelry missing from the home, according to a report from the sheriff’s office.

Investigators later found two foot prints outside the home.

The sheriff’s office is investigating.
