David Michael “Mike” Perry

INDIANAPOLIS

David Michael “Mike” Perry, 73, of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017.

He was born July 18, 1943, to the late Wendell and Dortha Faye (Legans) Perry. Mike was a graduate of Franklin High School and received his BA from Indiana University. He was a veteran and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1963 to 1968. Mike was a construction engineer for the city of Indianapolis for 20 years and supervised the construction of the initial phases of the Indianapolis Canal Walk. He worked for various local construction companies and the Mapleton-Fall Creek Development Corporation. In his spare time, Mike volunteered for Second Helpings and enjoyed creating various sculptures at the Indianapolis Art Center. Mike was an avid reader, history buff and baseball fan. He enjoyed coaching, attending his children’s sporting events and traveling around the world with his wife.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3243 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis with a celebration of Mike’s life to follow at the church.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Ann Phillippi Perry; daughter, Katie Carraway (Chris); son, Andrew Perry (Megan); grandchildren, Noah, Nyla, Elizabeth, Henry, Johanna; sister, Margo Eremus; and brother, Phil Perry.
