Rudolph B. Reading

NEW WHITELAND

Rudolph B. Reading, age 90, of New Whiteland, passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, in Franklin.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War.

Rudy honorably served as a member of the Whiteland VFW Honor Guard funeral detail.

He also volunteered at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin for 18 years. Rudy served on the planning commission of New Whiteland and retired from the Schwitzer Corporation in Indianapolis.

Rudy is survived by his daughter, Margaret (Larry) Lawmaster of Michigan; a sister Ernestine Hobbs of Auburn, a brother, Kenneth Reading of Arizona; and a grandson Harry Sering IV of Indianapolis.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret Lucille Reading; and his parents, Claud J. and Ida O. (Schults) Reading.

The family is conducting a visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Thursday at Jessen Funeral Home, Whiteland Chapel, 729 U.S. 31 North, Whiteland. Burial will be at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis.
