Forum will teach online safety tips

A forum today will help educate parents about how to help their children be safe online.

Franklin Community Middle School and Indiana State Police have partnered to offer a free cyber safety forum from 6 to 7 p.m. The forum will be at the middle school, located at 625 Grizzly Cub Drive.

Stephanie Nancarrow, a youth educator with the Internet Crimes Against Children group, will talk with parents and the community about how to keep children safe online.

Topics covered will include cyberbullying, extortion, texting sexual images, sexual solicitation and child pornography.

The event is free and open to the public. Anyone with questions can call the middle school at 317-346-8400.
