A man was arrested after crashing his car into a Greenwood tanning business, police said. Jarred M. Houston, 28, Indianapolis, was arrested on charges of operating under the influence and failure to stop after an accident. Greenwood police were called to Tropical Tan, 517 N. Meridian St., just before midnight Saturday. A car had crashed into the building, and the driver had fled, according to the police report. Officers set up a perimeter and began looking for the driver, and found Houston in a nearby neighborhood at Carol and Park drives.
He told police he had been driving the vehicle, the report said. Police took Houston to the police station for sobriety testing, and then got a warrant to draw his blood, the report said. Houston was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital for a blood draw, and then taken to the Johnson County jail, where he was held on $2,000 bond.
