Daisy Mae Burton

EDINBURGH

Daisy Mae Burton, 73, of Edinburgh, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.

She was born March 1, 1943 in Liberty, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Sam and Montie Marie (Rich) Swallows.

She married James Burton, and he preceded her in death in 2006.

She is survived by sons, Jerry (Lisa) Stapleton, Brad (Debi) Stapleton and Randall Stapleton, daughters, Kimberly (Brian) Lee and Patricia (Michael) Weddle — all of Edinburgh; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe Lee Swallows and John D. (Nannie) Swallows, both of Edinburgh, sisters, Dora Marie Swallows of Hickory, North Carolina and Dorothy (Dale) Barnett of North Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Granville Swallows, Arlis Swallows, Walter J. Swallows and Junior Swallows, sisters, Mary Kathryn Holt, Pearl McDonald and Betty Owens.

She was a member of the Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church.

She retired from Amos–Hill Veneer Co. of Edinburgh.

She enjoyed going fishing, playing bingo and watching the Indianapolis Colts.

The funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Lewis Burton at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Who-So-Ever-Will Community Church in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church and from 11 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
