JEFFERSONVILLE
Linda Vandivier Cummings, 78, of Jeffersonville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, surrounded by her family.
Linda was born May 29, 1938, in Franklin, to Harold and Pauline Vandivier.
She was a graduate of Franklin College and retired from United Mercantile Agency.
She was a longtime member of the Morton Memorial United Methodist Church and later joined Southeast Christian Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; long-time companion, Forrest Barr; brother, David Vandivier, and sister, Nancy Johnson.
Linda is survived by her children, Sarah E. (Scott) Gorman, Mark T. (Stephanie) Cummings and Karen E. (Dave) Howard; grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathan and Natalie Gorman, Abbey, Aaron and Ashley Cummings, Cheyanne Cummings, Victoria, Myles, Grant and Isabella Howard.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, with burial following at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
