State officials to conduct public meetings

State Rep. Woody Burton and State Sen. Greg Walker will host two meetings next week to share information about the 2017 legislative session.

Residents are invited to attend the meetings at 6 p.m. Monday at the Whiteland Town Hall, 549 Main St., and at 10 a.m. Jan. 14 at the Greenwood City Center, 300 S. Madison Ave.

The House and Senate convened for the first time this week, and the General Assembly will adjourn by April 29.

Burton and Walker will discuss what constituents would like to see addressed during the upcoming legislative session.

Burton (R-Whiteland) represents House District 58, which includes a portion of Johnson County. Walker (R-Columbus) represents Senate District 41, which includes portions of Bartholomew and Johnson counties.
