GREENWOOD
Larry G. Winney, 77, of Greenwood, passed away Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017.
He was born Oct. 29, 1939, in Terre Haute.
Larry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from March 1963 to March 1965.
He graduated from Terre Haute State High School in 1957 and Indiana State University in 1975 with a bachelor’s degree.
Larry was employed at Golden Rule Insurance for 10 years, retiring in 2005, as a manager of information services; Esterline Angus as the manager for data processing for 10 years; and Union Carbide as a business analyst for three years.
He enjoyed golf and cars, especially Corvettes.
Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents, Alvin and Phyllis Winney; brother, Phillip Winney; and first wife, Alice F. Winney.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beth A. Winney; daughters, Alicia Hosey and Kimberly (Gabriel) Smoot; stepdaughters, Amy (Joe) Gabehart and Lisa Hinks; sister, Shirley (Jack) Thomas; and 11 grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood in the cemetery chapel.
