EDINBURGH
Hollis Marion Burton, 71, of Edinburgh, passed away Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
He was born Oct. 27, 1945, in Casey County, Kentucky. He was the son of Cecil R. and Grace E. (Allen) Burton. He married Melissa K. (Curry) Burton and she survives.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Tony Burton of Gainesboro, Tennessee, Jamie Burton of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, Ben Burton of Edinburgh, Josh Burton of Edinburgh and Seth Voorheis of Edinburgh; daughters, Jennifer Burton of Franklin, Heather Childers of Franklin, Kayla Voorheis of Edinburgh and Loran Hatfield of Franklin; brothers, Bob (Helen) Burton of Franklin, Jeff (Shirley) Burton of Edinburgh and Tom Burton of Beech Grove; sisters, Margaret Mills of Edinburgh, Charity Hagan of Edinburgh and Vickie Hagan of Edinburgh; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Hollis David Burton; brothers, Tony Ray Burton and Steve Burton, and a sister, Patty Cooper.
He attended Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church and was a retired truck driver.
a funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday by Rev. Mike Whited at Edinburgh Separate Baptist Church. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church and from noon until time of service on Wednesday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
