Scoop: Five Things: Carrie Clayburn dinner

An upcoming dinner will raise scholarship money for an Indian Creek graduate who died after her pancreas ruptured.

The Carrie Clayburn Memorial Dinner will be Jan. 7 at Indian Creek High School, 803 Indian Meadows Drive, Trafalgar, during a basketball game between Indian Creek and Brown County.

Sheila Heidenreich, Clayburn’s mother tells you what you need to know.

1.What will be served?

The Indian Creek FFA will prepare their famous smoked pork chops and area churches and organizations provide vegetables, salads and desserts.

2. How much does it cost?

It is a free will offering and the money goes to scholarships in Carrie’s memory. This will be the 19th dinner.

3.How many people are you expecting?

There are around 650 family, friends and members of our community that attend.

4.What other activities are planned around the dinner?

There is also a silent auction going on during the dinner. Indian Creek has a basketball game against Brown County.

5. What is Carrie’s story?

Carrie was very active in the community and loved FFA and 4-H. Carrie passed away Sept. 7, 1998, when her pancreas ruptured. She had just started IUPUI after graduating from Indian Creek that May.
