Girls basketball

Cougars come out on top

Greenwood Christian Academy defeated Indiana School for the Deaf on Tuesday night, 47-39. Greenwood Christian advances to 4-5 with the victory.

Rebels advance in county tournament

Roncalli defeated Southport on Tuesday, 46-36, to advance in the Marion County Tournament. Alana Vinson led the way with 20 points, followed by Paige Saylor with 14. The victory puts the Rebels at 6-3.

Swimming & diving

Perry Meridian defeats Greenwood

Neither Greenwood team could overtake Perry Meridian on Tuesday. The girls came up short, 94-92, while the boys lost 102-81.

Caroline Marot led the way for the girls, taking first in both the 500 freestyle and the 100 backstroke. Marot also came up with a victory in the 200 medley relay along with Samantha Loudermilk, Bridget Lindstrom and Kenna Waldschmidt. Loudermilk also found the wall first in the 100 breaststroke. Jade Hensley took first in the diving competition.

For the boys, Noah Kosegi got first-place honors in the 50 and 100 freestyles. Derek Gray followed with a win in the 100 breaststroke and Joey Mooshian came in first in diving.
