Indianapolis Jazz Orchestra presents a big band tribute to the holiday season on Dec. 13.
The Big Band Christmas performance is scheduled for 7 p.m., Dec. 13, at the Jazz Kitchen, 5377 North College Ave, Indianapolis.
The show will feature vocalists Julie Powers and Rick Vale and the orchestra playing big band music and the most popular holiday music classics — including both sacred and secular Christmas tunes. All of these songs will be presented through world-class musical arrangements based on the very best of the big band repertoire.
In addition to performing new and rarely-heard seasonal Big Band arrangements, the Indianapolis Jazz Orchestra will also recreate legendary Christmas arrangements as originally performed by the Glenn Miller, Count Basie and Stan Kenton orchestras.
