William Bennett Davenport

William Bennett “Ben” Davenport passed away on Friday, Nov. 25, 2016.

Originally from Newfoundland, New Jersey, Ben most recently resided in Franklin.

A graduate of Lafayette College and a veteran of the Korean War, he was a leader in the health benefits industry.

Ben enjoyed traveling with his wife Alice, golf, hunting, gardening and spending time with family. He was a faithful husband, a wise father, a skilled businessman, a good friend and a generous grandfather.

He was a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife of over 60 years, Alice. He is survived by his son Bryan, Bryan’s wife Alicia; grandsons, Rick and Jared; brother, Lee; and other loved ones.

Visitation will be 3 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, 548 W. County Road 100 North,  Franklin.

Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St., (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin is assisting the family with arrangements.

Individuals wishing to make donations in lieu of flowers can donate to the Mayo Clinic, Department of Development, 200 First Street SW, Rochester, MN 55905; or to Hopewell Presbyterian Church, 548 W. County Road 100 North, Franklin, IN 46131.
