GREENWOOD
Judith Ann Boyer, 58, Greenwood, passed away, Friday, Nov. 11, 2016, after a courageous and hard fought battle with cancer.
She was born May 13, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Everett and Maryanne (Koehler) Bechtold. Judy graduated from Southport High School in 1976 and Indiana University School of Optometry in 1978.
She was a Certified Optician by the American Board of Opticianry. Judy was on staff at Indiana University School of Optometry for 36 years as an Ophthalmic Tech. Judy was the recipient of the 2010/11 Commitment to Excellence Award for Outstanding Dedication to the IU School of Optometry and Students.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Carl Boyer; son, C. Stephen (Whitney) Boyer; and daughter, Jill Boyer. Judy is also survived by her brother, James (Frankie) Bechtold, and her sister, Cynthia (John) Steinwedel.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135.
