Joseph R. Rader Jr., 69, of Greenwood passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016.
He was born on July 24, 1947, in Indianapolis, to Joseph R. Rader Sr. and Shirley Banks.
On Dec. 31, 1974, he married Jo Bradshaw Rader. Joe worked as an inspector for over 40 years at Chevrolet Truck and Bus, retiring in 2005.
He was a member of Southport Masonic Lodge No. 270, Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine, NRA, Martinsville Conservation Club and Southport Christian Church. He was an Army veteran, serving his country in Vietnam. Joe loved all animals, especially his Great Danes, and was an avid bird watcher.
Joe is survived by his wife, Jo; sons, Joseph “Rob” Rader III, Jeremy Rader and Jared (Leigh Ann) Rader; mother, Shirley (Bob) Banks; brother, Jim Rader; sister, Peggy Bush; and six grandchildren.
He is preceded in passing by his father.
Services for Joe will be at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the mortuary.
