Tox Box, electronics and documents collection set

The Johnson County Recycling District will host a document shredding and electronics collection on Nov. 5.

County residents can take electronics and documents to the office from 9 a.m. to noon at the district office, 900 Arvin Road, Suite A, Franklin.

The event is free and open to Johnson County residents and businesses.

Documents will be collected in locked containers and shredded off-site at Shares Inc. in Shelbyville.

Televisions and monitors will not be accepted at this event.

Also on Nov. 5, the county Tox Box will be open to collect unwanted drugs and household chemicals. Hours will be 9 a.m. to noon at 1051 Hospital Road, Franklin.

The following items are accepted at the Tox Box: household cleaning supplies, yard and pool chemicals, automotive fluids, oil based paint and stain. No latex paint or water-based paints will be accepted.

The collection is also open for Johnson County residents only — no businesses, contractors or small quantity generators will be accepted.
