Jerry D. Aldrich

BARGERSVILLE

Jerry D. Aldrich, 78, of Bargersville, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at the family farm in Union Township.

He was born May 9, 1938, in Indianapolis, to James and Marilyn (Paddock) Aldrich.

He married Marcia E. (Whitaker) Aldrich on March 14, 1959, at Mount Auburn United Methodist Church at Stones Crossing in Greenwood; she preceded him in death on Nov. 21, 2010.

He was a 1956 graduate of Center Grove High School and a U.S. Army veteran.

He was a member of First Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Franklin and the National Rifle Association.

He and his wife always enjoyed trips together to the Smoky Mountains and eating at Cracker Barrel.

His life was devoted to God, church, his loving family and farming.

Survivors include his children, Tim L. Aldrich (Libby), Marie E. Kidwell (Kevin) and Susan M. Kidwell (Keith), all of Bargersville, and Sally J. Winnett (Lee) of Greenwood; nine grandchildren, Jena E. Studer (Shane) of McCordsville, Julia D. Aldrich, Jonathan L. Aldrich, Joseph M. Aldrich, Lindsey E. Kidwell, Robert D. Kidwell, Grace E. Kidwell, all of Bargersville, Ethan A. Winnett and Emma E. Winnett, both of Greenwood; two great grandsons, Anthony Owen Scott Studer and Oliver Montgomery Lee Studer; his mother, Marilyn (Paddock) Aldrich of Bargersville; sisters, Sherrel Legan (Tom) of Singer Island, Florida, Carolyn Sue Stropes (McKim) of Bargersville and Brenda Hess of Martinsville.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Aldrich on Oct. 3, 1976; his wife, Marcia E. (Whitaker) Aldrich on Nov. 21, 2010; and his brother, Michael Lee Aldrich on Sept. 6, 2001.

Kent Kirchmeyer will conduct a service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 952 W. State Road 44, Franklin. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Friday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 U.S. 31 South (Morton Street) in Franklin and 9:30 a.m. until the service time Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery near Banta, with military honors.
