Mary Ann Risk

SANFORD, FLA.

Mary Ann Risk, 83, of Sanford, Florida,  passed away on Oct. 3, 2016, at Central Florida Regional Hospital.

She was born in Indianapolis, on Jan. 6, 1933, to the late Elizabeth and Charles Phillips.

She married the late Paul E. Risk in October 1982.

Before retiring, Mary was a building manager for various apartment complexes in both the Indianapolis and surrounding areas and in St. Petersburg/Clearwater, Florida.

She was also a former member of the American Women’s Business Association. Most of all, she was a two-time cancer survivor attending many Bluebird Cancer Retreats.

Last year, she was a bell-ringer for The Salvation Army.

Mary will be remembered for the fierce love she had for her children, family, and friends at Serenity Towers.

Missing her is a son, Lonnie (Pam) Holland; daughter, Christine (James) Garrett; daughter-in-law, Peggy Holland; stepson, Mike (Nancy) Risk; her grandchildren, Brian (Amy) Holland, Jason Holland, Heather Zeik, Jennifer (Brad) Harper, Jimmy (Kirsten) Garrett, Erin (Casey) Groce, Issac Risk, Amanda Miller and Shannon (Jeff) Fortune; and her great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Devin, Gaven, Kaylyn, Hunter (and his dad, Greg), Brynn, Marisa, Alivia, Payne, Reid and Bryce.

Gone before her were her sons, Michael and Dennis Holland; stepson, Dennis Risk; and siblings, James (Bud), William (Bill), Betty Lou and Charles (Charlie).

A celebration of life will be 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Greenwood Church with Mass immediately following in the chapel. Lunch will be served afterward. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
