Dinner to help family purchase service dog

Daily Journal Staff Reports

A fundraiser on Nov. 2 in Greenwood will help a southside child’s family purchase a medical alert dog.

Two-year-old Morrison Hooley has Type 1 diabetes. His condition requires constant vigilance to keep insulin and blood sugar levels in check. A service dog is trained to detect highs and lows in the blood that might not be immediately visible because of Hooley’s age.

The Revery restaurant, 299 W. Main St., Greenwood, will offer a dinner fundraiser starting at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 2 to raise money for the service dog.

Contact Melissa Sherman, Hooley’s mom, at 317-413-1467 or [email protected] with any questions.
