BARGERSVILLE
Mona Renee’ (Grider) Sherman, 83, of Bargersville, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.
She was born Feb. 4, 1933, in Russell County, Kentucky to William W. and Viola (Grider) Grider.
She married Orval J. Sherman on Dec. 31, 1933, at Villa Baptist Church in Indianapolis; he survives.
She was a member of First Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Franklin.
She had been a pharmaceutical technician at the Walmart pharmacy for 15 years. She previously had worked in the office of admitting at Franklin College and also Lane Bryant in Indianapolis.
She enjoyed bowling and being a member of various women’s leagues at Shelby Bowl and Sports Bowl in Indianapolis.
She and her husband enjoyed spending the winters in Babson Park, Florida, for the last 20 years.
Survivors include her husband, Orval J. Sherman of Bargersville; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Denise L. Sherman on July 26, 2014; and her parents.
The Rev. Stan Icenogle will conduct a service at 1 p.m. on Monday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 U.S. 31 South (Morton Street) in Franklin. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the service time on Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be at Bluff Creek Cemetery in Greenwood.
