A woman shot at a man who followed her into her Bargersville home and attacked her overnight, police said.
The incident happened in the Harvest Grove neighborhood, off State Road 135, north of Whiteland Road, at about 12:30 a.m. Friday. The intruder had not been found as of Friday morning. Police continue investigating.
The woman told police she let her dog out and saw the man outside. He began walking toward her and didn’t stop after she told him to, according to a police report.

She ran back inside and the man followed her. He threw her against a wall, and followed her into the bedroom where she had gone to get her husband’s gun, according to the police report.

She told police the man got on top of her and was grabbing her, and she was fighting him. She then got her husband’s gun, and the man jumped off the bed. She fired two shots at him, and the man ran out of the house, the report said.

Police don’t know if the intruder was struck.

The woman ran to a neighbor’s house for help, the report said.

After police arrived, the woman was taken to Community Hospital South. She told police the man had hit her in the face, the report said. Her shirt was also torn.
