NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — A college in New York City’s northern suburbs has announced the resignation of its president amid a financial crisis.
Judith Huntington resigned from the College of New Rochelle (roh-SHEHL’) on Tuesday.
The college says it’s investigating why unmet financial obligations “did not become known until recently.”
It says faculty layoffs are likely but student financial aid won’t be affected.
Huntington could not be reached for comment.
Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Dorothy Escribano will serve as interim president.
