Marcel Andrew “Mark” Allard

BARGERSVILLE

Marcel Andrew “Mark” Allard, 72, of Bargersville, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation in Franklin.

He was born Feb. 26, 1944 in Saco, Maine. He was a graduate of Brunswick High School in Brunswick, Maine. He retired in 2006 from the Indianapolis Colts flight department as the chief aircraft mechanic where he maintained Jim Irsay’s aircraft. He previously had been an aircraft mechanic for AMAX Coal Company.

He was a member and former deacon of First Christian Church of Bargersville. He was an avid Colts fan, loved watching NASCAR races and enjoyed antiquing with his wife. He and his wife were active band member parents of the Center Grove High School Marching Band. In his younger years, he enjoyed drawing and artistry.

He married Gayle W, (Utterback) Allard on July 22, 1967, she survives. Other survivors include children, Andrew M. Allard (Kimberly) of Bloomington, Mary Elizabeth Allard of Franklin and David W.R. Allard (Tammy) of Waterford, Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Marissa Allard and Jakob Allard, both of Waterford, Pennsylvania, Madeleine Allard and Lydia Allard both of Bloomington, Lyndsay Allard and Gybson Allard, both of Waterford, Pennsylvania. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Exilia Louise Allard and a sister, Loretta DeGray.

David Records, Rev. Ken Rickets, and the Rev. Roger Gifford will conduct a service 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Bargersville, 101 East St. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center, 300 U.S. 31 South (Morton Street) in Franklin and from 9:30 a.m. to service time Friday at the church. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
