Man struck by vehicle, walks away

A pedestrian was taken to the hospital after being struck by a car in Greenwood.

The accident happened around 10 p.m. Monday on County Line Road, near Hardegan Street, according to the accident report from Greenwood police.

Christopher J. Domek, 32, of Indianapolis, was driving east on County Line Road, when he said a pedestrian walked in front of his vehicle. Domek’s vehicle struck the pedestrian, who hit the hood and windshield. Domek stopped, but told police the man got up and walked away, the report said.

Police later found the pedestrian, Richard J. Reeser, 38, of Indianapolis, across County Line Road at Greenwood Park Mall. He told officers he thought he could make it across the street when he crossed. Reeser had a blood-alcohol content of nearly 0.28 percent, the report said.

Reeser complained of back pain and was taken to Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. His condition was not available Tuesday.
