HARTFORD, Vt. — Police are asking for the public’s help in finding who’s responsible for vandalizing a Vermont elementary school building with an apparent racist political message.
Police tell WCAX-TV (http://bit.ly/2eiES4w ) that Monday night vandals spray-painted the side of the Dothan Brook Elementary School in Hartford with the words “Ameri-KKK-ans for Trump,” with “Ameri-KKK-ans” spelled with a KKK instead of a C.
Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke has expressed support for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
Police Chief Phillip Kasten says the police department is appealing to the public to help it in finding the vandals and holding them accountable.
Police say a Cumberland Farms construction site about 3 miles away was vandalized in August. They say vandals caused more than $10,000 in damage and the two incidents could be related.
