Charles “Max” Hannah

INDIANAPOLIS

On Tuesday, May 4, 2021, Charles “Max” Hannah, loving husband of Dona Rose Padgett Hannah, passed away at the age of 80. Max was born on April 11, 1941, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee to John and Beatrice (Moore) Hannah.

Max graduated from the former Franklin Township High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. He played numerous sports including Babe Ruth Baseball.

After working at Ford Motors for 10 years, Max worked on construction projects as well as being a courier for Wheels Assured until he retired.

Max was in the Navy and Naval Reserve from September 1959 until April 1964, and was on the USS Newport News.

He was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed his many Harley Davidsons and loved detailing them. He enjoyed visiting with his friends at the Waffle House daily, in order to solve the world’s problems. Max was known for teasing others and his special way of looking at life.

Max was preceded in death by his father, John; his mother, Beatrice; brothers, James (Marilyn) Hannah, and Cecil Hannah; and sisters, Frances (Bob) Worland and Elizabeth Hannah.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Dona Rose Padgett Hannah; brother, Vaughn/Skinny (Sherry) Hannah; sisters, Edie (Herb) Ross, Barbara Hannah, Sandy (Tommy) Luker; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 9, 2021, from 4:00pm – 8:00pm, and services will be held on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 11:30am at G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home, 5141 Madison Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana. Burial will be at Washington Park East Cemetery after the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Max’s honor to the Wounded Warrior Project.
