TRAFALGAR
Bettie Jean Crislip, 82, of Trafalgar, passed away, Saturday, July 23, 2016, at her residence. She was born in Ohio on July 31, 1933, to her parents, Henry Leon and Emma Lou.
She, along with her husband, Del, were the owner-operators of the Southside Carpet Store, in Indianapolis. Bettie Jean used to work for the city of Beech Grove and was often deputized by the Beech Grove Police Department.
Bettie was an avid bowler. She enjoyed snow skiing and was a long-time member of the Indianapolis Ski Club. Additional memberships were in Eastern Star and Bunco groups. She used to play high school basketball and graduated a year early. Bettie raised several rescued Alaskan malamutes/huskies. She loved donating to the Johnson County Humane Society, annually.
She is survived by her two daughters, Debora Crislip of Indianapolis, and Becky (John) McClain of San Diego, California.
Bettie Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Leon and Emma Lou; and her husband, Delbert L. Crislip.
A Celebration of Life Service has taken place and no further services are planned.
