Lancers lose to Crimson Knights

Edinburgh didn’t complete the regular-season the way it had hoped Friday night, losing at home to the Indianapolis Crimson Knights, 41-6.

Six turnovers came back to haunt the Lancers, who trailed only 8-0 through one period.

“We’ve got to get over it, move on and get ready for sectional,” said Edinburgh coach Derrick Ball, whose team, now 3-6, prepares for its Class A sectional opener next week at North Decatur.

“I’m proud of the way this team fights. As a program we are getting better. But we just get in our own way too much. It’s disappointing when you don’t play to your potential. To an extent, really, we had a chance to be 5-4, but lost two close games.”

The Lancers’ lone touchdown came on quarterback Jacob Atha’s 8-yard touchdown run.
