Franklin

Burglary

500 block of E. King Street: A man reported at 8:08 p.m. Wednesday that someone smashed a window to his home, ransacked the home and stole guns and a safe.

Shoplifting

Wal-Mart, 2125 N. U.S. 31: A loss prevention officer reported at 11:32 a.m. Wednesday that a woman attempted to steal merchandise by pushing a cart full out of the store. The woman was arrested.

Disturbance

1100 block of Hospital Road: Police responded at 9:24 a.m. Wednesday to a report of disturbance at 9:24 a.m. Wednesday. Two men were yelling and resisted officer’s orders multiple times, including orders to back away from officers. One man was tasered. Both men were arrested.

Thefts

  • Meijer, 2399 N. U.S. 31: A construction manager reported at 7:16 a.m. Wednesday that someone broke into two construction trailers.
  • Circle K, 10 N. U.S. 31: An employee reported at 8:33 p.m. Wednesday that a man stole a candy bar.

Personal-injury accident

10:48 p.m. Tuesday — State Road 44E., and Longest Drive. Joy E. Mangold, 82, Franklin. Mangold had a chest injury.

  • 9:08 a.m. Wednesday — U.S. 31 and Commerce Drive.
  • 7:09 p.m. Tuesday — 1400 block of N. Morton Street.
  • 5:47 p.m. Tuesday — U.S. 31 and Branigin Road.
  • 6:39 a.m. Tuesday — U.S. 31 and Westview Drive.

Shoplifting

  • Kohls, 550 Fry Road: Police responded at 4:34 p.m. Wednesday to a report of shoplifting. A man was arrested.
  • Von Maur, 1251 N. U.S. 31: Police responded at 7:43 a.m. Wednesday to a report of theft.

Thefts

  • 500 block of Winding Trail: Police responded at 9:26 a.m. Wednesday to a report of theft of pumpkins.
  • Superior Discount, 1004 U.S. 31: Police responded at 1:29 p.m. Wednesday to a report of theft.

Criminal mischief

800 block of Summer Road: Police responded at 9:03 a.m. Wednesday to a report of eggs thrown at a vehicle and home.

Criminal mischief

500 block of Shady Brooke Heights, Greenwood: A man reported at 10:54 p.m. Wednesday that he saw a man standing next to his vehicle. The man ran when he realized he was being watched.

Theft

Atterbury Job Corps., 319 E. Edinburgh St., Edinburgh: An employee reported at 12:14 p.m. Wednesday that a student took another student’s phone.
