SOLOMONS ISLAND, Md. — The Maryland Municipal League is holding its fall conference.

It begins Thursday in Solomons, Maryland.

The annual event draws mayors and other elected local officials. They will take part in a variety of conference sessions. One is titled: “You Have an Active Shooter Situation — Now What?” It will be led by the commander of the Gun Enforcement Section of the Maryland State Police.

Members of the league also will adopt the group’s legislative agenda. That will guide advocacy efforts on behalf of cities and towns during the 2017 legislative session in Annapolis. The General Assembly is scheduled to convene Jan. 11.
