PUEBLO, Colo. — A suspect has been injured after he was shot while trying to get away from Pueblo police.

The Pueblo Chieftain reports (http://bit.ly/2ebRkHc ) that police were called Monday night to investigate a possible shoplifting or trespassing incident when they found an occupied, stolen vehicle at the scene.

As police tried to block the vehicle in, police say the driver tried to run over one of the officers. Shots were fired and the suspect was struck.

The suspect was treated for his injuries at a local hospital.

The 10th Judicial District’s critical incident team is investigating the shooting.
