EAST MEADOW, N.Y. — A 19-year-old man is dead after police say the car he was behind the wheel of crossed into the other lane and struck a tree on Long Island.

Newsday reports (http://nwsdy.li/2dN8GXD ) Quentin Abram was driving a car at a high speed in East Meadow just after 8:30 a.m. Sunday when police say the crash occurred. The Westbury man was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Abram was the only person in the car.

The crash remains under investigation.
