LIBBY, Mont. — A 42-year-old Libby man has been charged with deliberate homicide in the death of his 30-year-old girlfriend.

The Lincoln County attorney’s office said it filed the charge Friday against Trevor Mercier in the death of Sheena Devine. Mercier was expected to make an initial court appearance on Tuesday.

Devine was found dead in her home on Thursday morning. A friend told police she had been assaulted sometime over the previous night.

Sheriff Roby Bowe says Libby police had been at Devine’s residence on Wednesday night “on some problems they were having.”

Search warrants have been issued for the homes of Mercier and Devine. The investigation continues.
