MESA, Ariz. — The Latest on a 9-year-old Mesa girl who was reported missing (all times local):

Mesa police say a 9-year-old girl who was reported missing and the subject of a search has been found and is safe.

The Police Department announced on its Twitter feed late Monday morning that Jade Coyle had been found safe but the announcement provided no details.

The department didn’t immediately respond to an inquiry on where and how the girl was found or where she was after being reported missing Sunday evening.

According to police, she left her home and didn’t say where she was going. In reporting that the girl was missing, police described her as a runaway.

6:55 a.m.

Mesa police are looking for a missing 9-year-old girl that police are describing as a runaway.

Police say Jade Coyle was last seen Sunday evening in the area of Broadway and 40th Street while she was wearing a blue and white striped shirt, pink shorts and pink flip flops.

Police say the girl is white, has red hair and blue eyes, is four feet tall and weighs 70 pounds.

According to police, she left her home and didn’t say where she was going.
