NEW YORK — Police say they found a man dead with stab wounds inside a New York City apartment and have charged his younger brother with murder.

Police say officers were called to the Manhattan apartment on the Upper West Side Thursday night for a report of a man wielding a knife.

Officers say they found 63-year-old Luis Gonzalez with knife wounds to the torso. He was declared dead at the scene.

Gonzalez’s 56-year-old brother, Francisco Perez, has been taken into custody. Police say he has been charged with second-degree murder.

It wasn’t immediately known if he has an attorney.

Police say they recovered a knife inside the apartment. There’s no word from authorities on a possible motive.
