Police spokesman Sgt. Harold McClure said officers were flagged down Tuesday night after a man was discovered on the ground.

McClure said the man was taken to a hospital where he died. He said the man’s identity won’t be released until his family is notified.

He said officials do not know if the man was shot in Lucy Park or somewhere else.

The 178-acre park located on the Wichita River includes wooded areas, trails, a pond and playgrounds.
