HITCHCOCK, Texas — Officials say a man who survived a small plane crash in the Southeast Texas Gulf Coast this week that killed his flight instructor suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.

Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Stephen Woodard told The Galveston County Daily News (http://bit.ly/2dURT4i ) that the 38-year-old man who survived the Tuesday evening crash near Galveston of the twin-engine plane is “doing fine.”

The injured man’s name has not been released. Sixty-nine-year-old Brian Arnott was found dead at the scene.

Woodward said officials found the plane about 15-feet deep in a pond.

He says the man who survived “remembered them doing a couple of flight exercises and then he woke up in the hospital.”
